Thanksgiving Baskets Event 2021

This ministry provides baskets of food to hundreds of families during the Thanksgiving Holiday.
This year's event will be held Saturday, November 20th, 2021, with basket drop-off from at 8-10am, and deliveries beginning at 9:00am.

 

COVID-19 UPDATE:  We are planning on holding the event with some modifications in place.  We are in need of drivers to drive to individual homes and agencies. 
We also need volunteers in the parking lot to help unload/load baskets.

We will have a grab and go type of breakfast items – THIS WILL BE OUTSIDE –
FIND THE THANKSGIVING TAILGATE TENT near the Social Hall door.

Breakfast: We will have an outdoor THANKSGIVNG TAILGATE tent with prepackage breakfast items, water, coffee, and hot chocolate.
Donations can be dropped off labeled for Thanksgiving breakfast items starting Thursday November 18th.

Donate a Basket: Last year over 800 baskets were donated and delivered all over Hamilton County and the Indianapolis area.  Please utilize the signup link above to donate a basket.  A link is also provided above for the Shopping List detailing all items needed to make one complete basket. 

Place all items in 1 plastic tote with lid and drop off in the parking lot between 8-10am on Saturday, Nov. 20th

Monetary donations toward the purchase of a basket are welcomed and can be dropped off/mailed to the Parish Office (please write "Thanksgiving Baskets" in the memo of your check).

Drivers: Also complete the Volunteer Driver and Driver Acknowledgement Forms and Return Them to the Church by November 17th click here

Drivers:  *ARE YOU A NEW DRIVER?  If so, a waiver form MUST be completed prior to this event (link provided above). IF YOU FILLED ONE OUT LAST YEAR, you DO NOT NEED to fill another one out.

Over 150 drivers are needed to deliver baskets on Saturday, Nov 20th (signup link above).  

Addresses are not pre-assigned. They are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis starting in the Social Hall starting at 9am.  We ask most drivers to deliver 3-6 baskets, however, drivers with larger vehicles (SUV’s, pickup trucks, etc.) will be needed to take a larger number of baskets.  We will be delivering to individual addresses and agencies, but will ask all drivers to please be flexible, as we may have a bigger need to deliver to agencies than in previous years.   

  

Shoppers: Numerous adult volunteers are needed to shop for multiple baskets. Those shopping will be reimbursed with donated funds. Please see note from Thanksgiving Basket Drive Organizers

Callers: Adults are needed to call the families from Good Samaritan to confirm their address and give date and time frame for delivery.

Stuffing Prayer Cards: Adults or teens are needed to stuff prayer cards that will be given with the baskets.  This will occur the evening of THURSDAY, Nov 17th in the social hall.

Parking lot volunteers: Adults and teens only that are able to lift and carry heavy baskets. Use the link above to sign up to help.
