Required Eucharistic Minister Training Sessions
For ALL Eucharistic Ministers (including our Homebound/Hospital/Nursing Home Ministers, Stephen Ministers who may be taking Communion to their Care Receivers, and our Choir Eucharistic Ministers):
Your service as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is vitally important to our parish and is an amazing responsibility. Sharing Christ in the Eucharist with our parish family is pivotal to our faith as Catholics. Because of this, we want to be sure that all who are serving as Extraordinary Ministers are offered an opportunity to recommit to their ministry and be updated and retrained each year.
Going forward, we will offer training sessions each year in April and May prior to commissioning on Corpus Christi weekend at all masses. In order to continue in this ministry at Holy Spirit for the next year, you must attend one of these sessions. These will be the only opportunities for new volunteers and our current ministers to continue for the next year. Fr. Dale will answer some of our currently most asked questions and provide some information about your ministry and Brendan O'Neill (our volunteer ministry leader) will give reminders, updates and new information regarding the logistics of your role as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Once you have attended one of the sessions, your name will be added to our list to send to the diocese and all of this year's ministers will be commissioned at our Corpus Christi masses on June 5/6.
The training dates for this year are:
Saturday, April 24 - 11:00 a.m.
Monday, April 26 - 7:00 p.m.
Monday, May 10 - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 15 - 11:00 a.m.
(*Note: You only need to attend one of these sessions. If you do not attend any of the sessions you will not be able to continue as a Eucharistic Minister for the upcoming year.)
Thank you so much in advance for your willingness to attend and continue in this ministry, for your spirit of service to our parish, and for your desire to share the Eucharist.
