Our EMHC perform a great service to our parish and the Church by assisting our priests with the distribution of Holy Communion at mass and to the sick and homebound. It is an honor and privilege to serve the Church in this capacity. If you are considering this liturgical ministry, you are encouraged to prayerfully reflect on the spiritual preparation necessary to serve in this role. All who wish to become an Extraordinary
Minister of Holy Communion (which includes our Homebound/Hospital/Nursing Home Ministers, etc.) must attend a training session in May. Commissioning for all current and new EMHC will take place on June 18/19 at all masses.
These trainings sessions will take place on:
Saturday, May 14 at 11AM,
Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30PM
Saturday, May 21 at 1PM.
All sessions will take place in the Worship Space and no RSVP is necessary.
Please contact Andrea Frey [email protected] or Sue Schmitz [email protected] with any questions.
Eucharistic Ministers
Called by God As Eucharistic Ministers, we are called to serve God’s holy people by sharing the Body and Blood of Christ with our brothers and sisters.
Called to Love Like Christ By answering God’s call to become a Eucharistic Minister, you will enter into a deeper intimacy with the risen Christ present in the Eucharist.
You are also called to be an example of Christ’s love. Like Christ, you will become a servant to your fellow parishioners. You will serve the faith community in a way that is both a privilege and a form of humble service.
Called to Be “Extraordinary". As a layperson, it is “out of the ordinary” for you to give communion to others; therefore, you will become an “extraordinary” minister of the Eucharist.
Eucharistic minister is the shorthand term for extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. Called to Give Joy The Eucharist is the ultimate joyful mystery. The Eucharist is at the heart of the mystery upon which Christian faith is ultimately founded – the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus. When we receive the Eucharist, we receive the gift and promise of eternal life. As a Eucharistic Minister, you would be the sign and carrier of Eucharistic joy. Listen for His Call The Lord is always calling us because of His great love for us.
Please consider His call to serve our parish in this way.
You will be be scheduled approximately 1-2 times a month at scheduled Masses.
