Safe Environment at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist

Holy Spirit Parish and the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana is dedicated to ensuring a culture that is safe, open, welcoming and protective of all people and especially our children.

We cooperate with parents, civil authorities, educators, and community organizations to provide education and training for children, youth, parents, ministers, educators, volunteers and others about ways to make and maintain a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults.

The Diocese makes clear to clergy and members of the community the standards of conduct for clergy and other persons in positions of trust with regard to abuse.

The Diocese will evaluate the criminal history background of all diocesan, school and parish employees, as well as volunteers who have regular contact with minors.  Specifically, they will utilize the resources of law enforcement and other community agencies.

Finally, all employees, as well as volunteers with any level of contact with youth will successfully complete safe environment training on a regular basis.
